How to Pay for the Bridesmaid Dresses of the Brides?

Question: I have looked in so many shops and am finding it impossible. They offer a bolero or they say they can add sleeves which just don't match the dress - does anyone know of any shops in the UK where I can buy one. I'm willing to travel preferably the south east of England though. Please help me. I refuse to buy one from abroad and don't like the idea of buying online from these sites that offer them really cheap - I can't afford to have one made so please help me.

I think you shouldn't ask her to pick a different dress, but rather ask for her to go halters with you.... let her know that you're kind of strapped for cash and that the plane ticket was expensive... I am sure she will understand... and hey you never know maybe she will end up buying them.... my parents and my fiancs parents went halters and bought my bridesmaid dresses so they only had to worry about their shoes.....

Remember, this is your best friend...talk to her. Tell her your situation and I'm sure you all will be able to work something out. But...make sure you don't put it off. If she is having other attendants and you want to change the dress, you'll have to get this approved and communicated to them BEFORE they buy the dress. In all the places that I've bought bridesmaid dresses, all sales were final--they would only exchange a dress for the same dress/size if there was a material defect in the dress. If someone has already purchased this dress you may be stuck with going this route.

Good for you! I'm sick of these girls who think the only kind of wedding dress is a strapless one. Most of them do not suit it at all, and their flab hangs over the bodice. And how gorgeous and elegant was Kate Middleton's dress! There must be tons of shops falling over themselves to reproduce something like heirs. Do you not have a dressmaker locally who could make one for you? Then it would be totally tailor made for you.

You have to pay for your dress and you might not want to ask her to change the dress because it could cause some hard feelings. (She has a lot of decisions to make and although your complaint is legit, it is unfair to ask a bride to change the dress because one bridesmaid is unhappy with the style, color, price etc.) If you know the style of the dress you might want to look online to see if you can buy that dress in your size ff eBay or something. If you can't and you do need to buy it, you can always sell it afterwards so you can at least get some of your money back.
