No it not too early. I'm getting married on 26th July 09 and ordered my dress about 2 months ago. They take about 6 months to come in stock, so I would say you need to go now!! Buy a dress in the size you are now because you will have alterations done when the dress comes and if you have toned up they can just take it in to fit you. I'm also considering flats as I'm quite tall so it depends on how tall you are as to whether you will be too short. But if you want to get married next summer you need to book you ceremony and reception as soon as you can. Like now!! Good places tend to book up at least a year in advance. We had to switch dates for our wedding because it was totally fully booked!
I've read brides maids and groomsmen buy their own outfits...so I guess I have no worries about that...just will be difficult finding some inexpensive dresses for them...we're all on a small budget. I think we just have to give a small donation to the church...we're not doing a honeymoon unless his parents surprise us with that...the marriage license is like 90 dollars...which kind of sucks but we'll eventually be able to pay that..I'm going to do the layaway thing at davits bridal and just slowly get the decorations and everything from Wal-Mart and target...I found a pretty flower girl dress for berry cheap.
Answer: Budget wedding can definitely work if you do it right. It shouldn't feel "budget", it should feel intentional. Check out this couples wedding. I love it because it is budget by normal wedding standards but it is still really stylish and thoughtful. I think for your wedding date an outdoor BBQ wedding would be really special too.
Slow down and take a deep breath.......... :) Don't stress too much about gown shopping - it is one of the most fun experiences of your life!! You asked a lot of questions here, so I hope to answer them for you... First it is not too late to go shopping. I'm getting married the end of March. I started dress shopping this past January (15 months in advance), finally picked one and ordered it in May.
